The Number That Is You

As much as I keep on reminding myself age is just a number, my biological clock tells me otherwise. Age does matter. I ain’t 18-22 anymore.

Gone were the days where I could go for no-sleep-day spree.

Gone were the days where I could run across the field without shedding a sweat.

Gone were the days where I could go all out and paint the town red.

Nowadays I struggle to catch my breath.

I used to go for one trip after another every other week and I would still be as strong as a horse.

Now, I will be dead exhausted even after a short road trip, I will have to sleep for 10 hours straight …. for several days …. to re-energize

I used to go hiking every weekend, up to the Penang Hill 84 pit-stop and I would feel that my health is at top of its form.
Now, I need to nurse pulled-muscles or aching-joints after every escapade. Especially if I attempt to carry my little Darling up and down the hill.

I used to eat like a cow and my body would still be able to take it.
Now, my body metabolism is getting ready for retirement, I’m already sporting a bulging tummy courtesy of all those midnight snacks.

Ya, age does matter.
